Summer 2012 watching daddy play softball

Flash Back Friday
Going on the opposite theme of snow storm Hercules… I am bringing back a cropped group photo of our 2012 Summer co-ed softball championship winning team sponsored by Russian Standard Vodka. That’s me and C when NF was 10 months old. I played left field mostly that Summer and had two mean catches… the rest of the time in the outfield I was staring at who ever was watching NF or thinking about whoever was watching NF at home while hoping the ball never came near me. As for hits – usually grounders right to first, just hard enough to move people on bases but not hard enough to not get out at first. Perfect, that way I moved people, but I don’t have to run the bases and fear for my life that a ball will line drive me in the face, ear, neck, anywhere basically. I’ve seen it happen, and I know one day if I play enough it’ll happen to me… it’s statistics not irrational. I actually wish it was normal to wear helmets in softball… but it’s not. If you ever see someone wearing one you can basically assume they’ve been severely hit and are serious players. I am not good enough to pull of wearing a helmet or face mask. I am pretty certain people would say or think, if that girl is that afraid of getting hit why is she even playing at all. Good question. I desperately wish my dad made me play softball growing up. I played soccer and lacrosse. I was okay at both, better at lacrosse and stuck with that until I was a senior in high school and apparently too cool to do anything with my time. MAYBE if I played softball growing up – I’d have a skill I could use as an adult. So remember that parents… softball is a skill you can use as an adult. Like golf. But possibly less expensive. I also don’t know how to golf. Have I gone on enough? Flash back Friday folks!
Thursday Thoughts
Today is Thursday and it’s time to link up with Jen at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom…
NF… I THINK he needs an earlier bed time. He goes to bed at 9 PM and I am struggling to wake him up at 7:30 AM. But then I don’t want to go ruining nap time? I am seriously thinking 8:30 PM might have to be the new bed time, and maybe we’ll keep it 9 PM on the weekends? It’s true, kids bed times get earlier as they get old, and their naps slowly disappear?
Amanda on Big Brother 15… the WORST! AH she really can’t get any more worse can she?! She’s awful!
Gina Marie, Elissa, or Judd…. ANY ONE of these three can win it and I’d be happy. I am so tired of the rest of the house!
Oh and Amanda’s tramp stamp… gross.
Let’s end this on a more positive note… I need something to think about other than Big Brother 15 drama that makes me crazy…..ummm…. 54 days until the next episode of Pretty Little Liars.
So What Wednesday!!
It’s So What Wednesday and I’m linking up with Life After I Dew…
So WHAT if…
- I’m sore from softball.
- it’s my birthday tomorrow and I’ll be….27.
- I’m glad Splash on ABC is over.
Sunday Social
1. What is your favorite thing about Spring?
This question is ridiculous when it’s “Spring” but it’s snowing like crazy and 30 degrees outside. My favorite thing about Spring is softball. And that starts in like 5 weeks… but it’s not going to start when there is snow on the ground.
2. Favorite kind of flowers to grow or receive?
I always had a love for blue hydrangeas!
3. What is your favorite nail polish color?
This is a tough one because it keeps changing. For a while I really liked OPI’s Glow Up Already from the Burlesque Collection (remember that movie?). I wore this color all summer when I was pregnant. I think because it was sparkley and chunky I didnt have to be as neat.
4. What is your favorite out door activity?
I like to play softball, watch softball and keep the book, and walk at the park.
5. Do you have any fun Spring plans? Details
No I don’t have any Spring plans. wahh wahhhhh.
Thursday Thoughts
Spring is coming and that means time for softball. Chris is playing 4 nights a week and I’ll be playing 1. The picture above is from last summer. It’ll be an adjustment having softball run our lives again – but I think I’m ready.
Who knew that white smoke meant Habemus Papum (we have a pope)? I was really into the hype… I would have enjoyed the smoke to go on for like 18 hours before they told the world. Everyone just staring at the white smoke waiting not knowing if it could be announced in seconds or days. Instead it was like less than an hour?
The Neighbors had a musical episode last night!! And I loved every second of it.
Syracuse won their first Big East tournament game against Seton Hall yesterday 75 – 63. Today they’ll play Pittsburgh Panthers! Let’s go OR-ANGE clap clap..clapclapcalp.
