Friday Letters

Friday letters

Dear NF, you’re all ready to go, coat on, sneakers on, cookie monster in your arms… I open the front door and you fall to the ground like one of those animals playing dead staring up at their predator.  We’re on day 3 of this.  It’s sort of adorable, sort of terrifying if you decide to do this in public.

Dear Breaking Bad, I finished you.  You were amazing but I am really glad you’re done and over with because – I just could not handle it anymore.

Dear Pretty Little Liars, I feel like I was just preparing for the withdrawals I was going to have from you not being on but with all the new tv I hardly noticed you were gone.  Now you’re back next week!

Dear cold, cough, upper respiratory infecwhatever you are, go away you’re not welcome in my home!

Dear Bruce and Kris “split”, this isn’t even news?  So Bruce got his own home in Florida?  If I had Kardashian $ I think I’d have a home in Florida too… ya know just mine… no big deal.  If they really got divorced divorced then I’d be more surprised.  Oh and I know Brody is probably everyone’s fav Jenner boy… but I kinda think Brandon is cute?  Yes? Anyone?

Dear Smellen, thanks for dealing with my “Sheldon”ness.  (Last night someone in our cooking class said I reminded him of Sheldon… which would make my sister Leonard).

Dear Celebs read mean tweets, I laughed SOOO hard watching you.

Thursday Thoughts

ttt

It’s THURSDAY!  and I’m linking up with Jen for Thursday Thoughts.

nfinabucket2

that tote is really orange.

So NF likes to play in the bright orange totes.  He’ll relax in there, watch some tv, and then go back to playing.  I am feeling better about the orange color since it’s close to Halloween – and it’s Syracuse’s color… but really C?  You couldn’t have come home with a more neutral color?

breakingbad

I am pretty close to finishing season 5 of Breaking Bad.  So far I think I know something I wish I didn’t know… but I’m not sure if I’m right… so I will still be surprised by the ending.  I can’t believe I’ve been able to stay away from spoilers this long!

cookie

NF’s 2nd birthday party is coming (Halloween!)… and the theme is Cookie Monster.  There are SOOO many things I can do with that.  I mean seriously, google cookie monster party… go on pinterest… you can spend forever looking at the amazing creative crafty things moms do for birthday parties… it’s actually overwhelming.  I need to pick a few things and do them well and not freak out.

hot bean sauce

hot bean sauce

Tonight is my last night of my Chinese cooking class!  I wish it was more weeks.  I really loved doing it and I think I’ll be taking more cooking classes in the future.  That picture is a jar of hot bean sauce… secret to deliciousness.

lg env3

Am I the only one with this phone still?  Besides my cousin and my sister… The LG enV3?  I might even have the 2 I’m not even sure.  I got it December 2009… and it’s still working well for me.  I just CAN’T do it… just like I refuse to get cable… I refuse to get a smart phone.  I just don’t want to spend the $ every month.  My 13 yr old nephew said to me a few weeks ago, “you still have that phone?  I had that phone like 4 years ago.”  Really??!

My Emmy Thoughts, incase you wanted to know them.

Last night was the 65th Prime Time Emmy Awards on CBS.  Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, who is no longer just known as Doogie Howser, M.D. – in fact I hardly even think of Doogie when I see Neil Patrick Harris these days.  Anyway, I think he did a fine job… despite all the CBS plugs which I know were required and he IS on How I met Your Mother, a CBS show (a show I have never seen ever, and I watch a lot of network television).

NPH Looked flawless, as expected.

Should we start with fashion or the awards?  Okay Fashion it is.

We’ll start with the good…

sofiavergara

Sofia Vergara: Doesn’t she always look amazing?  She can REALLY pull off a red Vera Wang… and $7 mil worth of Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry… whoa… I’d be terrified to wear that expensive of jewelry.  Like literally would be checking every 30 seconds to make sure nothing fell off.

julia louis dreyfus

Julia Louis-Dreyfus: Flawless.  I love it.  But does anyone else miss Elaine Benes hair?

heidi klum

Heidi Klum: Heidi could pull of anything, even harem pants, and no body looks good in those.  So I was happy to see her be risky and fun in this pomegranate Versace sequined dress.

kaley coco

Kaley Cuoco: Can we call this color pomegranate?  Can we retire chartreuse, and say that pomegranate is the new black?  Cause I love it.

connie britton

Connie Britton: This was unexpected and looked great on Connie.  So country… and that woman is BRONZE!  Her skin just glows this bronzey skin.

anna gun

Anna Gunn:  I think this is super flattering.  Also, we need to take notice to Anna’s amazing arms.  She looks great!

tina fey

Tina Fey: I love a dressed up Tina.  And her nip slip even better!  (I am also LOVING cobalt blue lately ((that’s a lie…always)))

One last one… My fav Sir Elton John’s sparkly cobalt blue jacket.

Paula Abdul: uh oh.

65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

Zooey Deschanel: Okay, so I didn’t hate this dress… I do like Zooey in blue to match her beautiful eyes… but it wasn’t whimsical like Zooey so I was disappointed.

anna

Anna Faris: What?  Her hair was so shiny, was it a wig?  And that yellow?

Sarah Hyland: It could have been so much more.

julie

Julie Bowen: Now first of all, I love Julie Bowen.  And she wore the ultimate all time best Emmy’s dress ever in 2012.  See here… Julie Bowen in Monique Lhuillier.  So basically anything after that has to be good… and this was was not it for me.

Now for the awards… We’ll get right into it… (I didn’t list them all, forgive me).

Drama Series Winner: Breaking Bad.  I have no issue with this.  It was exiting that they won!

modernfamily

Comedy Series Winner: Modern Family… I do love Modern Family.  But this is like their 4th in a row… let’s let another show win… like The Big Bang Theory?

claire

Lead Actress in a Drama Series: Claire Danes, Homeland.  Okay, I have to admit… I’ve never seen homeland… I was sort of gunning for Connie Britton for Nashville, though I knew she didn’t have a chance.  I know everyone wanted Kerry Washington.

Lead Actor in a Drama Series: Jeff Daniels, The Newsroom.  Another show I haven’t seen.  I don’t have HBO or Showtime… and HBO shows do not ever come on netflix.  I feel it is an elite audience that gets to see these shows… ones that pay top dollar for their tv channels…. or have enough effort and time to download the episodes.  I was hoping for Bryan Cranston… but I like Jeff Daniels too.

jimparsons

Lead Actor in a Comedy Series: Jim Parsons, Big Bang Theory, CBS.  Yes!  I love Sheldon Cooper!

julia

Lead Actress in a Comedy Series: Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep, HBO.  Again, I’ve never seen Veep.  I would have loved to see Amy or Tina win it.

Supporting Actor in Drama Series: Bobby Cannavale, Boardwalk Empire, HBO.  I watched the first season and a half of Boardwalk Empire… basically because I love Steve Buscemi.  I gave up on it.  This win was a shock… I really thought Jonathan Banks would win from Breaking Bad.

Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Anna Gunn, Breaking Bad, AMC.  Yes!!  I loved this win!

Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series: Tony Hale, Veep, HBO.  I’ve never seen Veep… but I love Tony Hale (Buster).  I did want to see Bill Hader win.

merritt

Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series: Merritt Wever, Nurse Jackie, Showtime.  I’ve never seen Nurse Jackie.  I wanted Mayim Bialik to win…. or Jane Krakowski, or Sofia Vergara… but I did like her acceptance speech!  (“I gotta go”).

Reality-Competition Program: The Voice, NBC.  Come on… why wasn’t American Baking Competition on there!?

Friday Letters

Friday letters

Dear Nicky Flash, I love you!!!  But you’re pretty dramatic… I don’t let you run around with a soda can and you’re throwing yourself to the ground crying then you start laughing then you cry again??  I mean- I’ll help you, I’ll hide the can so you forget about it, I’ll let you work it out yourself, I’ll distract you, whatever you need.

Dear Smellen, I’m excited for you to run errands with Nicky Flash and me tomorrow – I know NF is excited too!

Dear Lady who almost hit my car, I was totally unaware of my incredible driving reflexes I demonstrated this morning.  Who backs up without looking at that speed?  I was able to swerve, avoid you smashing into my car, and a get a tiny toot honk in there (not too aggressive).  I could tell you were mortified.  That’s why I gave a little, ‘everything’s fine since nothing technically happened’ wave, and drove off.  The last thing you probably needed was some crazy lady screaming at you about how you ALMOST hit their car.  (I’ve had people do that to me, and it’s uncomfortable, embarrassing, and just plain terrible).  So it’s all good!  But I really hope that never happens again.

Dear Coffee, I really love you.

Dear NFL draft, WHO CARES.  I can’t stand college football, unless it’s Syracuse… so I pretty much don’t know who any of these guys are… and it goes on forever.  I can look up who my favorite NFL team drafted later, when it’s over.

Dear Fantasy Football, should I do you this year?  Will the boys allow me in?  I’ve won in the past, but maybe since the last season I played I had a BABY during it (and lost), they won’t remember how serious I am about it, they’ll let me back in, and I will win!  Or do I just want to seperate myself from all the FF and hide like I did last season?  I’ve got time to figure it out.

Dear TV shows we’re losing this year,

  • Dear 30 Rock, I’ll miss you.  You left at a good time.
  • Dear Don’t Trust the B, WHHHHHYYYYY you left me too soon!!!  Whhyy!?  And I’ll never know what happens!!
  • Dear Breaking Bad, you were one crazy show.
  • Dear The Office, I love you, I stuck with you until the very end.  I feel horrible saying it… you should have ended when Michael Scott left Dunder Mifflin.
  • Dear Private Practice, how did this grey’s spin off last so long?  Sorry, I didn’t ever watch you.

Dear ABC’s Nashville, 4 more episodes left in season 1.  I can’t WAIT for the finale!  Wait, yes I can… then I have to wait all summer for it to come back on again.

Dear Mindy Kaling, I think you’re great!
