I made these crescent square creation – which I think I should name… Crescent Chicken Jalapeno Poppers. I based the recipe on Pillsbury’s Savory Crescent Chicken Squares.
Ingredients:
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened (NOTE: you do NOT need the whole package – use as much as you want)
1 cooked chicken breast chopped into small pieces
1/2 cup chopped jalapenos
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
topping: 1 tbs butter, bread crumbs or crushed croutons, grated parmigiano reggiano
Step 1: Cook the chicken breast and chop into small pieces.
Step 2: pre heat oven to 350 degrees
Step 3: In a medium bowl mix cream cheese (not the full 8 oz, it’s too much cream cheese then), chicken, and chopped jalapenos.
Step 4: make 4 squares from the crescent dinner rolls on a baking sheet. divide the mixture into 4 and onto the middle of each square. Pull corners to the middle and seal tightly by pinching and folding the dough. Make sure it’s all the way sealed, no filling is showing.
Step 5: brush tops of squares with melted butter. sprinkle topping onto the squares.
Step 6: bake 25 minutes and let cool before eating. Enjoy!
