1. Favorite type of work out to do?

I am liking my current routine…

  • Monday: Spin
  • Tuesday: Boot Camp
  • Wednesday: Spin
  • Thursday: Boot Camp
  • Friday: Abs class

I USED to have yin yoga on Fridays and I loved it… but that class stopped… and abs was added to the mix and I’m enjoying that now.  Soon softball will start and that’ll be another form of working out I like to do.  I ALSO carry a 25 lb toddler up and down 3 flights of stairs in heals every morning / afternoon… and laundry, diaper bags, groceries… I think that is my least favorite type of work out I do.

2. Favorite guilty pleasure candy or sweet?

I REALLY love dark chocolate.  Basically just a pile of dark chocolate, a good book, or some mindless TV and I’m relaxed.

3. What is one thing you continuously forget to do?

To run the dish washer.  I always think… oh I’ll run this while we sleep or during the day when we’re not here – because it’s loud.  And I always forget to do it.  I’ll come home, or wake up and think ahh I meant to runnn thattt!!  (I’m so interesting I know).

4. Posts its or phone reminders? Why?

Post its.  My phone is OLLLLLD, and I don’t plan on getting a smart phone… I’m old school, this phone was NICE in 2009.  The night before Chris’ birthday I planned on writing a post it saying happy birthday on his bathroom mirror, and then another on the front door to see as he left for work.  I waited and waited for him to finally go to sleep so I could do it.  He stayed up SO late that night!  But I was able to sucessfully suprise him with the post-its.

5. Favorite picture currently on your phone that always makes you smile?

downsized_1103011351

Ohhh my baby was 3 days old here.  We didnt even have furniture.  Our gigantic box television is on the floor.  Nicholas slept in that bouncer for like the first month of his life… with me on the couch right next to him.

Flash Back Friday

flashbackfriday

alisonoldie

Cortland, New York Spring 2007… We had a big snow storm and then hot weather like all in the same week.  This next picture was taken exactly 7 days after the first picture.  It’s me with the snow man’s stick arms.  Why did I have to have an alcoholic beverage in every picture (a bottle of vodka was my choice to hold for the 2nd)… umm because I thought that was cool?  Now days I hardly ever drink, and if I do, I’d probably put it down and hide it for the photo.  Oh how much has changed in 7 years.  However- I still own all my abercrombie and hollister hoodies… I parted with all the t-shirts… and probably could say good bye to the hollister hoodies… but those abercrombie hoodies are made with REAL quality I’m telling you they really are – at least they were back in 2004 when I dropped mad dough (I just got embarassed writing mad dough) on some sweet hoodies… they’re like 10 years old and still holding up fine.  When I do wear them I feel like a wanna be teen mom that isn’t a teen and I just get all ugh I can’t wear this anymore – anyone else have this problem?  One thing I am glad I never invested in is the PINK vic secret clothing line… like do I really want all my yoga pants to say PINK on the butt in rinestones?  No.  but what if I had 5 perfectly good pairs (really glad that I don’t!)… k I think I’m done rambling on.

What I’m loving Wednesday

what Im loving wednesday

024

Nicholas: Always loving Nicholini!  This picture was taken when he was 6 months old.

su

We’re GOING to the SU vs. Indiana and Miami vs. Marquette game TOMORROW:  You read that correctly.  After Syracuse won Saturday – we said, let’s just GO to the DC game… let’s just do it.  And so it’s happening.  This is very spontaneous for me.  I used to be spontaneous, and then I had a baby and I became Predictable Pam.  (I seriously just googled girl names that start with P so I could come up with that).  ANYWAYS – I am pretty excited.

greentea

Green Tea: Way to follow the SU game with GREEN TEA… I really am Predictable Pam.  Or Boring Betsy?  So… instead of having 3 cups of coffee a day.  I am having 2 in the morning and then 1 green tea in the afternoon (between 1:30 and 3:30) omg I really really am Predictable Pam.  I researched (googled) the benefits – and I thought… why not… it basically tastes like nothing but hot water with some boring but not terrible flavor… I can drink that for the antioxidants.

spring

Spring Breakers: Umm this movie came out last Friday…. has anyone seen it?  I think it looks like it’d be terrible (because James Franco has cornrows).  But I am totally intrigued.

5 guys

5 guys: As much as I’m loving this, I am hating it.  I ordered little cheese burger and small fry… and what I actually recieved was a large cheese burger with a grocery bag full of fries.  I inhaled this meal, thoroughly enjoyed it, and then felt tremendous guilt.  That doesn’t exactly mean I wouldn’t do it again… because I know I will… just maybe like once a year.  I won’t return until 2014 now.

tweezerman_noslipskin_900x900

Tweezerman Stainless Steel No Slip Skin Care Tool: Have you ever used one of these?  It’s a tool to extract blackheads and achne and basically pick your face.  Well they can be addicting and disastrous.  I do not own one right now.  I am scared.  If I did own one then I wouldn’t use my hands and random objects to pick my face… but I’d also spend probably 30 minutes a night destroying my face.  So I’m loving it… but I’m hesitant.

downy

Downy Wrinkle Releaser Spray: Does anyone use this product other than me?  They have to or they wouldn’t make it right?  I use it all the time.  This was my conversation with my friend Kristin… Me, “Do you ever use wrinkle releaser spray?”  Kristin, “no the only thing I use on my face is the st ives cream Dr.Oz recommends.” ……. seriously…. that convo happened.  So… the point of saying that I am loving this is because I am and other people probably should too because it gets wrinkles out (of your clothes, not face) and smells good.

cool ranch

Cool Ranch Doritos Tacos: Have you seen Jim Gaffigan’s stand up?  Where he discusses McDonalds – like if you’re there and see some one you know you’re like oh no I’m just using the ATM they have what are you doing here?  That’s why they invented the drive thru… you can pretend you’re invisable while scarfing that cheesey gordita crunch in the parking lot with your 16 month old in the back judging you but you know they’ll never tell because they can’t really say more than a few words.  What am I going to do when he can talk!?  “Dad, mom vacuumed the entire time you were gone, and then we went to the drive thru and she had 2 rodeo cheese burgers in under a minute.”  (I always vacuum the second he leaves because I love it and I don’t need to be judged for how often and long I like to do it).  OKAY, so to the point, I tried cool ranch doritos tacos, but then had to pretend I never tried it when Chris brought it home.  But Nicholas knew I ate it… he just couldn’t tell on me yet.

I have a challenge for you…

I have a challenge for you… I was cleaning and I came across a post-it with a list of celebrities on it. I don’t remember writing it (but I did – it’s my hand writing and who else would do that).  But why did I write this list of celebrities down… what do they have in common? A first I thought, best dressed list for an award show? no… can’t be. Celebrities I should follow on twitter? Maybe… but I don’t know. What do you think I was writing??? Is it obvious or nonsesne?

  • Selena Gomez
  • Kelly Rowland
  • Sofia Vergara
  • Nigel Barker
  • Anne Kendrick

1. What is your favorite thing about Spring?

This question is ridiculous when it’s “Spring” but it’s snowing like crazy and 30 degrees outside.  My favorite thing about Spring is softball.  And that starts in like 5 weeks… but it’s not going to start when there is snow on the ground.

2. Favorite kind of flowers to grow or receive?

I always had a love for blue hydrangeas!

Blue Hydrangea 1_JPG

3. What is your favorite nail polish color?

This is a tough one because it keeps changing.  For a while I really liked OPI’s Glow Up Already from the Burlesque Collection (remember that movie?).  I wore this color all summer when I was pregnant.  I think because it was sparkley and chunky I didnt have to be as neat.

glow up already

4. What is your favorite out door activity?

I like to play softball, watch softball and keep the book, and walk at the park.

5. Do you have any fun Spring plans? Details

No I don’t have any Spring plans.  wahh wahhhhh.

Flash Back Friday

al and el little

AWW Aren’t we adorable?  This is my sister and I back in 1990.  We have very shiney hair.  I have no idea how I ended up so brown haired and Ellen so blonde.

al and el little again

Halloween 1993?  My mom made the BEST costumes!  Ellen looks so funny with that wig… and her belt is def a big brown hair scrunchie.  SO CRAZY to think that 18 years later on this same day Nicholas would be born!

Thursday Thoughts

ttt

the neighbors purses

I was disspointed that The Middle, Modern Family, and Nashville weren’t going to be new last night… but I was very excited about a new episode of The Neighbors with BETHENNY FRANKLE!  I have to admit I used to be a bigger fan of her than I am now.  I would read her books… but now she has too many and I haven’t kept up.  Her new talk show I haven’t figured out what channel it’s on, and I don’t have cable so I’ll probably never see it.  I was devestated when I heard that her and Jason split… I was REALLY routing for them ya know.  ANYWAYS – the episode was pretty good.  I wish that ABC didn’t show basically ALL of her parts in previews but oh well.

march maddness

March Madness starts TODAY!  Technically it goes into April, so why is it March Madness?  Let’s go Syracuse!!  Why does the Syracuse game have to be on at 10 PM???

baby times cover

I never mentioned that Nicholas was on the cover of a baby magazine, Baby Times.  He’s 6 months old here.  I just went to the site and the magazine cover is still there!  It was totally weird/so cool to go to a diner or the zoo and see stacks of pictures of my child.  I HAVE to admit, I do have a good friend that works there, and she recommended him to be on the cover.  So he wasn’t totally discovered by luck – but he is pretty adorable if you ask me!  And yeah I have a copy framed to keep forever.  http://www.familytimes.biz/

What I’m Loving Wednesday

nicholas sleeping tiny

Nicholas: I’m always loving baby Nicholini!  This photo was taken when he was under 3 months.  He’s so tiny!

bangkok

Thai Food from Bangkok Restaurant: Bangkok makes you feel like family and their Thai food is so amazing.  I’ve been going there for years.  We went for my mom’s birthday dinner last night (Nicholas included) and had a great time.  It is located in Liverpool, NY on route 57.

d.l. hugley

When someone on Dancing With The Stars really can’t dance (D.L. Hughley):  Anyone happen to catch DWTS Monday night?  EPPP!  D.L. Hughley’s cha-cha to Flo Rider’s “Get Low” was pretty bad.  BUT that’s what I WANT to see premire night, a bunch of “Stars” totally out of their comfort zone dancing terribly… and THEN they slowly improve.

pizzelles

Pizzelles: Easter is coming and I’ll be making lots of these soon!

The celebrity contestants for the upcoming ABC show 'Splash' film a promo at the Aquatic center.

Splash on ABC: This premired last night. ANNNND it was amazing. The suspense was incredible. The best part of the show, Louie Anderson doing everything for the troops, Kareem Abdul Jabbar in a bathing suit, and Joey Lawrence is a co-host.

Pop Sugar Must Have Box Review March 2013

My March 2013 Pop Sugar Must Have Box Review…

corkatoo

Corkatoo Waiter’s Corkscrew: ($12.47)  This was my favorite thing in the entire box.  I loved it!  We even used it already.  I got the red one.

denimWash

The Laundress – Denim Wash: ($19) I saw other Pop Sugar Reviews and they didn’t get Denim Wash.  I was expecting Delicate Wash… which I’d use.  Denim Wash I guess I’d use… but when do I do a load of JUST jeans.  Since yoga pants have been invented I basically wear them instead of jeans.  Ah I was still excited to get this.  Very cool.

necklace

Heather Belle Octagon Tassel Necklace: ($72) I like this necklace!  I’d never spend $72 dollars on it though.  The first time I wore it… IT BROKE.  Nicholas hardly pulled on it and the octagon tassel thing fell right off the chain.  If I really spent $72 on it I’d feel like a foool.  I can fix it by squeezing the link so it doesnt slip out… but I know I’ll be paranoid that it’ll fall off whenever I wear it now.

toes

newblack

The New Black Nail Polish 2 set: ($10) I loved this!  I got a metallic orange and red (not the exact colors above).  I immediately painted my toes orange for Syracuse!  I really liked that they came in twos.

buxom

Buxom Sculpted Lash Mascara: ($19) Wow!  That brush is cra-zy.  I used it and it seemed to work well.  It doesnt clump on the brush (neither does the bare minerals one I use).  I liked it.

sweater saver

Hollywood Sweater Saver: ($6) So this should remove unsightly pilling from knits, coats and blankets… I haven’t built up the courage or motivation to try it.  I will soon though.  I hope that it works… but I just am pretty skeptical.

hollywoodfashionsecrets_tapetin_900x900

Hollywood Fashion Tape: ($8.99) Maybe I’ll use these.  I think I’ll just keep them in my closet – and use them if I need them in a crunch… like getting ready for a wedding.  Or put them in my purse for a wedding to offer someone in the bathroom who is having a difficult time.  I don’t know – but I hope they are put to good use whatever I do with them.

peeps

Peeps: ($0.89) I don’t like peeps.  I didn’t like conversation hearts either.  Pshh.

So the total value of the box came to $148.35.  The box costs $35 / month.
